Illustration Project
I had the pleasure of working with Penguin Books as a contributing artist for their re-issuing of the Hardy Boys books. This new hard back edition needed a cover that looked like it belonged on modern book shelves, but still paid homage to this classic series. I wanted to present the cover and back cover as a combination of both important scenes as well as crucial clues discovered throughout the story. My favorite part of this solution was how the branded elements of the cover interacted with the illustrations—the sections all angled to match the direction of the book info, the cliff framing the blurb on the back, the water line playfully bordering the top of the main title, etc.
